Photographer Robert Firth named Artist-in-Residence |
The Cedar Key Arts Center (CKAC) and the Seahorse Key Marine Lab (SKML) have joined hands in an Artist-in-Residence Program and are welcoming acclaimed photographer Robert Firth to Cedar Key February 21 - March 8, 2013.
Robert Firth has dedicated his life to photography and his life-long passion for capturing light, life and nature's beauty has been Robert's calling. His work has appeared in numerous national publications. Bob's early darkroom experience has been extensive, studying the techniques of Master photographers such as Ansel Adams. Bob is a multi-faceted expert in his field, and now in the digital age of photography, his work is unsurpassed. Chasing the "shot" and "light", Bob spends early morning hours setting up, anticipating photographic conditions with relentless pursuit. His love of nature and its beauty is evident in his work.
We are fortunate to have Bob visiting Cedar Key. He will be an Artist-in-Residence for two weeks, one of which will be on Seahorse Key, thanks to the collaboration with the University of Florida and Assistant Lab Director, Dr. Jennifer Seavey, in what we are calling, 'Art meets Science'.
A sample of Bob's work from his stay here in Cedar Key will be on display during April in the MAG, along with photographer Ann Kemzelski and her current students, depicting nature in our area.
